🌿 What Is CBD — and Why Are We Using It in Massage?
At Deep Breath Lounge, we’re always looking for thoughtful ways to support your wellness. That’s why we’ve recently added a topical cream infused with CBD (cannabidiol) to our bodywork sessions — available upon request at no extra cost.
We know some of you may have questions. Here’s a simple breakdown of what CBD is, how it works when applied to the skin, and why it can enhance the benefits of your massage.
🌱 What Is CBD?
CBD (short for cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant. Unlike THC, it’s non-psychoactive, meaning it won’t get you high.
Instead, it interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system — a network of receptors that helps regulate things like pain, inflammation, mood, and recovery.
CBD is well-known in the wellness world for its:
Calming properties
Anti-inflammatory effects
Potential to support natural healing
💆♀️ Why Use CBD Topically?
When applied to the skin:
CBD does not enter the bloodstream.
It targets localized areas, supporting relief at the site of application.
It can be especially helpful for tense muscles, sore joints, or areas of inflammation.
Think of it as a soothing, plant-based cream that delivers targeted comfort — without any systemic effects or side effects.
🌼 Why It Works So Well in Massage
Massage and CBD topicals are a natural match.
When applied during a session:
Your therapist works the cream deep into the tissues, enhancing its effects.
It may help amplify the sense of relief, especially in problem areas.
Combined with touch therapy, CBD can support deeper relaxation and help ease recovery from tension, stress, or surgery.
We use a CBD cream from Sunmed, a trusted wellness brand known for clean, third-party tested products.
✅ How to Try It
This topical cream is available to any client — just request it at the start of your session. There is no additional charge — it’s simply one more way we care for your body and nervous system.
🛑 If you’re pregnant, have skin sensitivities, or medical conditions, please let us know before we begin your session.
❤️ Your Healing Matters
Whether you're coming in for spa relaxation, medical bodywork, or recovery support, we want you to feel seen, supported, and restored.
If you have questions about the topical or anything else we offer, just reach out. We’re always happy to help you make informed choices about your care.
